About the Democratic Party for Change
Founded in 2020 in Baidoa, the Democratic Party for Change (DPC) emerged as a beacon of hope amidst Somalia’s challenges. Our mission is to reshape the political landscape through inclusive democracy, empowering citizens to participate in governance and ensuring equal opportunities for all. Officially registered by the National Independent Electoral Commission, the DPC is committed to addressing insecurity, inequality, and economic empowerment while upholding human rights.
The DPC was established by a diverse coalition of politicians, intellectuals, youth, and women, united by the vision of a just and prosperous Somalia. Our party strives for a society where democracy thrives, and all citizens enjoy high living standards, health, education, and fundamental rights. We are dedicated to building lasting peace through dialogue, reconciliation, and community trust-building.
